Blue Rose

I think the blue rose has something to do with Project Bluebook.

Scott Gazzard:
Alot of attention has been drawn to the 'Blue Rose' investigation mentioned in the movie FWWM. It has been hypothesised that the Blue Rose is a code for cases involving supernatural phenomena, or that it is linked to Project Bluebook.

However, again I think there is a more mundane explanation. This is, I admit, based on flimsy evidence, and it needs to be thought through some more, but I think that the Blue Rose is a symbol used for Jean Renault's drug smuggling activities, which the FBI and Canadian authorities have been investigating for some time. In FWWM, agent Desmond says that the tailored dress worn by the dancing lady is their code for drugs. So, unless there is a connection between the drug cases and supernatural events, I think it is unlikely that the Blue Rose would be used in conjunction with the tailored dress.

Recall that the mistress of One-Eyed Jacks is Blackie, short for Black Rose. Note that when we first see her she is wearing a dress - a black dress.

When Jean Renault comes to visit One-Eyed Jacks, he brings Blackie's sister with him. Blackie refers to her once as Nancy (I think), but this is the only time a name is mentioned. When we see Blackie's sister for the first time she too is wearing a dress - a blue dress. If Black Rose is seen in a black dress, then that would make her sister, seen in a blue dress...
